About
NEWS: Recent recordings have been added on the Sound Clips on the right panel. Feel free to have a listen.
I am a classical singer based in Hong Kong. Here you will find information about me as a singer and music teacher.
On the right panel is an audio player featuring a recording of me singing Tao Te Ching composed by Sisi Feng with Ensemble 10/10 in Jan 2009. (Reviews can be found here) Also featured are some studio recordings of me accompanied by Felix Suen; these include a few Schubert and Fauré songs, as well as opera arias by Handel and Puccini.
In the blog session, I shall be writing about different aspects of my life as a musician. Insights and thoughts from rehearsals, performance and teaching will also be my topics.
During the last few years of study, I have read a number of books on vocal production and singing techniques. It is my intention as I work on this website to include knowledge and information that I’ve learnt from various books, in the hope that it would be useful for fellow singers and students. I shall start with one of the textbooks on the singing voice: Dynamics of the Singing Voice by Meribeth Bunch.
Chapters are to be summarized with key points that serve as reading guidelines. I hasten to add that this is by no means a replacement of the book itself. Instead, the purpose of this exercise is 1/ for me to revisit these books and 2/ for new readers to have a preview of the content and others to use as a reference for easy navigation throughout the book.
I would be very grateful for any comments and feedback about the website and in particular the section with literature reviews.
